Mental health is one of the most talked-about topics today in the area of well-being. The impact that the covid19 pandemic had (and has) on our lives, especially at work, has drawn attention to this very relevant issue.

In Portugal, as in many other countries, remote work became mandatory in order to minimize the transmission of the disease. This change significantly affected the mental health of the population - many families found themselves overwhelmed with work outside of hours, difficulty in establishing a routine, taking care of the house, looking after the children all day long, and also supervising their distance learning. Consequences such as stress, anxiety, fatigue, among others, quickly began to be felt.

In the last two articles, Digiplanet talked about work stress and how to deal with it. Now we want to give suggestions for applications to improve the mental health of workers (and not only) and help maintain productivity levels in a healthy way!

Happify

The Happify app was developed based on the studies of various scientists and experts in the field of psychology. Its slogan is "Against stress and worry" and the goal is to increase the happiness level of users. Demonstrating the app's effectiveness, they claim that 86% of people who use it regularly confirm that they feel better. Happify offers games, tasks, and activities such as guided meditation!

Pomodoro Timer Lite

We have addressed the Pomodoro method several times in our articles. It is one of the most widely used productivity techniques in the world with proven results. The goal is to maintain focus for 25 minutes and take a break for 5 minutes. After 4 cycles, take a longer break of 30 minutes. You will notice that during work periods, you have great peaks of concentration. The Pomodoro Timer Lite app times your work and break periods, allowing you to customize them according to different work rhythms.

Headspace

Headspace is one of the most well-known applications to help you get started with meditation and increase your levels of concentration. The journey begins with small exercises focused on breathing, anxiety, focus, and sleep, using meditations that can even be done during runs and walks. This app was created by Andy Puddicombe, who was a Buddhist monk for 10 years and decided to apply the techniques of Buddhism in the world of technology.

Stoic

THE Stoic "It is an application that will help you deal with stress, based on the principles of Stoicism. It tracks the user's mental health, records mood and emotional state variations, and offers meditation and reflection exercises. With this app, you can also build your personalized routine to foster your organization and reflection on your day. Throughout your journey with Stoic, many suggestions and tips are provided that will greatly improve your mental health and help you become a happier person."
