What is a Refurbished computer?

A Refurbished computer is a used computer that has undergone a restoration process.

Refurbished computers can come from a variety of sources, including customer returns, company surplus, or devices used for in-store demonstrations.

At Digiplanet all products are reconditioned in our own laboratories, that is, both the hardware and software are updated by a specialized technical team and are subsequently sold with the option memory or disk upgrade.

What are the different reconditioning states?

Excellent
Screen, keyboard & trackpad: no scratches
Body: like new, no scratches visible from a distance of 20 cm

Very good
Screen: no visible scratches when turned on;
Body: minimal signs of use, visible from 30 cm
Keyboard & trackpad: very light scratches

Good
Screen: no visible scratches when turned on;
Keyboard, trackpad & body: small scratches or dents.

Aesthetic anomalies in no way affect the good performance of the machine

How is the reconditioning process carried out?

At Digiplanet, the reconditioning process involves the following steps: 

1. Selection
The best brands and models purchased from the best suppliers are selected and the equipment that is in the best condition is chosen;

2. Inspection
The computer is examined to assess its condition and need for cleaning and sanitization and it is determined which parts need to be repaired or replaced;

3. Diagnosis
Tests are carried out at the hardware level and with specific software, functionality tests for ports and connections to external devices and verification of the functionality of accessories;

4. Repair
Defective parts are repaired or replaced, external and internal cleaning is carried out, replacement of malfunctioning electronic components, deletion of data from the hard drive, installation of original, configuration and upgrade software;

5. Upgrade
Hard disk upgrade when justified for better performance or more capacity and memory upgrade when necessary for better performance;

6. Quality Control
Burn out performance tests, exhaustive functional tests on all critical components, new final visual inspection, quality assurance of the finished product and packaging are carried out.

How long does a Refurbished computer last?

The lifespan of a Refurbished computer can vary depending on several factors, such as the age of the computer, the quality of the parts used in the restoration, and the user's care in keeping the computer clean and well-maintained.

Does the Refurbished computer come with the previous user's data?

A Refurbished computer is cleaned and fully restored. In this way, the data of the previous user is erased from the computer's hard drive.

What is the difference between a Refurbished computer and a used computer?

A used computer is sold without any intervention or guarantee of functionality, while a Refurbished computer is reviewed and repaired to ensure it functions properly.

The refurbishing process includes checking all computer components, replacing damaged or defective parts, and generally cleaning the equipment.

Are refurbished computers a more sustainable option?

Yes, refurbished computers are a more environmentally sustainable option than buying new computers.

This is because producing new computers requires significant resources and energy, while reusing used computers reduces the amount of electronic waste that ends up in landfills.

Are refurbished computers a safe option for buyers?

This is because, during the reconditioning process, the equipment goes through a series of rigorous tests and inspections to ensure that everything is working properly.

Are refurbished computers compatible with the latest software and hardware?

Does the equipment purchased have a warranty?

Yes, all equipment available in our store is guaranteed.

Refurbished equipment purchased from January 1, 2022 has a warranty period of up to 3 years, depending on the region.

This period is considered from the date of the equipment invoice and can be exercised upon presentation of the duly completed warranty certificate and/or proof of purchase (invoice).

Furthermore, batteries for refurbished equipment have a 3-month warranty period. If a problem occurs with the battery during this period, you will be able to exercise the warranty period by presenting the duly completed warranty certificate and/or proof of purchase (invoice).

The accessories that accompany the equipment have a warranty period defined by the manufacturer, which, under legal terms, is at least 2 years for individual consumers. This period is also considered from the date of the equipment invoice and can be exercised upon presentation of the duly completed warranty certificate and/or proof of purchase (invoice).

However, it is important to note that there are some exclusions from the warranty. These exclusions include defects caused by abnormal wear and tear, improper installation, bad weather, negligence or accidents, among others. Therefore, if a problem occurs that is not covered by the warranty, we will provide a quote for repairing the equipment.

What happens if the equipment breaks down?

If equipment purchased from Digiplanet breaks down, you can count on the company's technical assistance.

Digiplanet has its own technical assistance team and specialized facilities to carry out the necessary repairs.

The company has years of experience in the market, providing services to large national institutions, which guarantees the quality and efficiency of the services provided.

This technical assistance is available both within and outside of warranty, if necessary. Therefore, if your equipment presents a problem, simply contact Digiplanet so that technical assistance can carry out the necessary maintenance.

What if the item doesn't arrive in good condition or I don't like what I received?

If upon receiving the product, you find that it is damaged or does not conform to the description presented in the online store, you can exercise your right to free resolution byreturning the product within 14 days from the date of receptionof it.

To do this, you must inform us of your intention to return through our customer service, indicating the invoice number and the reason for the return.

After we receive the return and confirm the condition of the product, we can offer you a new equipment or refund the amount paid for the product, depending on your preference.

Please note that the transport costs associated with returning the product will be your responsibility, unless the product has manufacturing defects or does not conform to the description presented in the online store.

How do I know they will deliver on the guarantee they promise?

What if the battery fails after the warranty period?

After the end of the warranty period, if the battery needs to be replaced, we suggest that the customer contact us for more information about the available options.

If the battery is internal and needs to be replaced, it is important that the replacement is performed by an authorized Digiplanet technician in order to avoid violating warranty seals and preserve remaining warranty coverage.

In the case of replacing an external battery, the customer can choose to purchase the battery directly from us or look for an alternative source. However, it is important to note that the use of unauthorized or poor quality batteries may compromise the performance and safety of the computer, in addition to voiding the remaining warranty.

What is the warranty period if there is a repair outside the initial warranty?

If the computer is outside the warranty period, the warranty period for replaced or repaired equipment is 6 months.

However, if the battery is replaced during warranty, the warranty for the new battery will be 3 months from the invoice date.

It is important to remember that the guarantee can only be exercised upon presentation of the guarantee certificate and/or proof of purchase (invoice) duly completed.

What is the battery status of Digiplanet equipment?

Do the computers come with a charger included?

Yes, all computers purchased from the Digiplanet store come with a charger included.

What is the quality level of the equipment?

Refurbished equipment is classified into different quality levels, which are based on the physical and functional conditions of the product. 

We work with various quality levels, which may vary according to stock availability and the specific conditions of the product. 

However, it is important to highlight that the company strives to offer equipment with the best possible conditions for its customers.

The condition of the equipment can always be found in the description of the product itself.

Can I see the equipment I will receive before purchasing?

If you want to see the equipment before purchasing, you can visit our facilities and request to see it.

We have a space reserved for the exhibition of our equipment, where you can test and evaluate the condition of the product.

Payment & Delivery

Below you can find the answer to some frequently asked questions about payment payment and delivery methods.

What payment methods are available?

Payment via Visa, Mastercard or American Express debit or credit cards, with secure processing guaranteed by the Viva Wallet gateway. 

Multibank
An ATM reference will be provided at checkout, which must be paid to confirm the order.

Products will only be shipped or available for collection after payment has been confirmed.

MBWay
If you use the MBWay service, you can select this option in the payment method. When you enter your mobile phone number, a notification will be sent to the MBWay application or your bank, which you must confirm.

Bank Transfer
At the time of checkout, you will be provided with the bank details to which the amount of your order should be transferred, and then you must send the proof to the email clientes@digiplanet.pt.

EITHER Equipment will only be reserved for you once payment has been confirmed by Digiplanet, as equipment availability is subject to existing stock. If you wish to guarantee the reservation of the equipment, proceed with payment.

Payment in Store
Payment in store can be made by cash, debit or credit card and, after payment, the product can be collected.

The equipment will only be reserved for you at the time of payment, so delivery will be subject to stock availability. If you wish to guarantee the reservation of the equipment, make immediate payment using one of the payment methods available.

Do you deliver to your home?

Yes, your equipment can be delivered to your home or another location of your choice.

Delivery is free to mainland Portugal and Spain, on orders over €25.

Purchased equipment will be shipped within 72 working hours after ordering and payment confirmation, for products whose stock is immediately available and for deliveries in mainland Portugal and Spain. 

Regarding special offers for companies, this delivery period does not apply.

Deliveries are guaranteed by carriers Nacex and DHL.

Attention: Due to high demand, during the Black Friday, Christmas and sales periods, shipping and delivery times may change.

Can I pick it up in store?

If you prefer, the equipment can be collected in store, after or simultaneously with payment.
