What's New in Windows 11
Six years after Windows 10 was introduced, Microsoft finally released Windows 11 on June 24, 2021. And it's full of news! According to the company's CEO, Satya Nadella, this will be one of the biggest updates of the decade.
This latest version of the operating system bets on a modern look and gaming audience. We saved the best for last: if you have Windows 10, the upgrade to 11 will be free!
“At a time when the PC plays a central role in our lives, Windows 11 was designed to bring you closer to the things you love most”, says Microsoft, referring to the months we spent at home in telecommuting, online classes and social gatherings through video calls. It was inspired by this philosophy that Windows 11 was created. Read to the end to discover the most news of the new software:
More modern look
The design has been simplified to enhance users' productivity and creativity. We invested in a minimalist, modern and transparent look. The buttons of the menu and the icons on the taskbar are now centered, “to put the user at the center of the experience”. The background also has a more appealing and current design.
Microsoft Store
One of the biggest innovations of Windows 11 is the possibility to install mobile applications (Android) on the computer. This will allow content creators to edit and post videos on social networks like Tik Tok and Instagram directly on the PC.
Gamers have not been forgotten! mobile games can also be installed transferred to Windows, as is the case with PUBG Mobile, one of the most popular games in the world, having been installed over 800 million times.
Microsoft shows a vision for the future, betting on improving the user experience for younger generations.
More productivity
Microsoft focused on productivity with the new Windows, thus ensuring a very complete and practical work tool.
The software will allow you to use several windows at the same time and configure their layout on the screen. In the future, Windows will remember what the layout looked like and will reproduce it so you don't have to do it every time you turn on your computer.
Another new feature is the deep integration of Microsoft Teams in Windows 11. The platform for group teleworking will be complemented with a new 100% customizable widget panel where you can define the most important items for quick viewing, such as weather, news, group chats, social networks, among others. This innovation could mean the death of Skype, which was until now the Windows default.
Gaming
“If you are a gamer, Windows 11 is for you”, you can read on the Microsoft website, in the characteristics of the new software. As we said at the beginning, gaming was one of the big bets of the new update - introduction of the Auto HDR system (ensuring a better image), increased game speed, among many others.
In addition, the service Xbox Game Pass will be available on Windows 11, giving the possibility to integrate Xbox games on PC!
